Abstract:

Medulloblastoma (MDB) is the most common primary malignant brain tumor in children, which is second only to pediatric astrocytoma and accounts for about 40% of posterior fossa tumors in children. We found that tumor metastasis (cerebrospinal fluid implantation), subtotal tumor resection and large cell/anaplastic MDB were statistically significant adverse prognostic factors. WNT subtype, standard risk group, M0 stage, postoperative radiotherapy combined with chemotherapy, older age (≥3 years old) at diagnosis and total tumor resection were favorable factors for prognosis. This review focuses on the epidemiological characteristics of pediatric MDB and the primary prognostic factors of MDB.
