Abstract:

Cell-laden hydrogel could be extruded through the coaxial needle. After cross-linking, a core-shell cell-laden hydrogel fiber would form. This technique is the coaxial hydrogel manufacturing technique. The core portion of coaxial hydrogel fibers could be filled to mimic fibrous tissues such as nerves and muscles. When the core portion is hollow, it can mimic cavity-shaped tissues such as blood vessels. At present, this technique has certain applications in tissue engineering, drug screening, etc. This article focuses on the application progresses of this technique in nerve regeneration.
