Advance in effect of physical agents on the treatment of spasticity

Abstract:

Spasticity is a commoncomplication of dyskinesia in many patients with spinal and/or cerebral lesions. The most widely used procedures for management of spasticity are represented by pharmcaological treatment aimed at inhibiting reflex hyperexcitability. In recent years, non pharmcaological procedures for treating spasticity have been put forward, such as muscle stretching, muscle reinforcement and physical agents. This review mainly be concerned the effect of physical agents in the treatment of spasticity .
