Recent advance in pathogenesis and treatment of hemiplegic shoulder pain after stroke

Abstract:

Hemiplegic shoulder pain (HSP) is the most common complication in stroke patients, which seriously hinders the recovery of upper limb function. This article mainly reviews the examination, pathogenesis and treatment of HSP, discusses the relationship between HSP and shoulder joint subluxation, acromio-deltoid muscle bursa lesions, shoulder hand syndrome, rotator cuff injury and spasm, and looks for reasonable preventive measures and accurate and efficient treatment for HSP.
